The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for review, analysis and follow up of credentialing and privileging applications, maintaining strict confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Coordination and documentation of the medical Staff and Medical Executive meetings.
2. Develop and communicate agendas for above meetings to appropriate SCK Health staff, medical staff, and other providers.
3. Must possess sensitivity in understanding employee’s needs whole maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing requirements are met for the facility.
4. Responsible for the timely and thorough credentialing and privileges of all medical staff and other providers.
5. Act as a liaison between MPR and the facility.
6. Serve as the form’s developer and manager for facility.
7. Accept and complete other duties as assigned.
8. Knowledge of medical staff affairs operational processes.
Position Requirements
• Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
• Working knowledge of clinical and/or hospital operations and procedures.
• Knowledge of clinical privilege criteria development.
• Knowledge of medical staff policies, regulations, and bylaws and the legal environment within which they operate.
• Knowledge of performance improvement techniques.
• Information research skills.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw inferences from research findings, and prepare reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
• Database management skills including query and report generation.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 – 2 years credentialing in healthcare setting, preferred.
