South Central Kansas Medical Center Announces New Orthopedic Surgeon

South Central Kansas Medical Center is thrilled to announce the addition of its newest physician, Dr. Suhail Ansari.

A successful orthopedic surgeon from Liberal, Dr. Ansari has a long history of providing care for rural Kansans. In his time as a solo practitioner, he has built a strong reputation with both his patients, and the medical community in Kansas.

Dr. Ansari started his practice in 2000, where he has specialized in surgery to treat traumatic and sports-related injuries of the hands, wrists, knees, hips, and shoulders for almost two decades.  His expertise is in partial and total joint replacements, reconstructive knee and shoulder surgeries including ACL, PCL, and collateral ligaments. He also has a vast experience in bone repair, including long bone, ankle, and complex hip and shoulder fractures.

Before establishing his solo clinic in rural Kansas, Dr. Ansari began his professional career by establishing a sports injury and knee trauma practice in Fujairah, UAE. After successfully growing his expertise in orthopedics, Ansari beginning training in the United States at several renowned educational hospitals, including Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The doctor also developed his professional skills at the Medical College of Ohio, serving as a trauma specialist before opening his solo practice in Liberal. Dr. Ansari has been performing orthopedic surgery in Kansas for nearly twenty years and will continue his services at SCKMC.

Dr. Ansari’s wide variety of surgical proficiencies provides a great benefit to Cowley County, by bringing additional highly skilled technical orthopedic procedures close to home. Ansari’s recruitment was made possible by hospital CEO Jeff Bowman’s increased focus on bringing new medical practitioners to Cowley County.
