SCK Health Expands Occupational Health Services
Written by Krista Carrillo
After purchasing Testing Services, LLC in 2022, SCK Health has seen the profound need for these services in Cowley County. We are proud to announce that effective January 1st, SCK Health Occupational Health Services (OHS) department will be expanding their current offerings to better serve our community.
The expansion of services includes the addition of a dedicated medical provider, Heather Irving, APRN, who will be joining the OHS team as the full-time Chief Medical Officer. Irving has been practicing family care in Winfield and Arkansas City going on 10 years now, and SCK Health is excited to have her join us in this new adventure. “The occupational health role is an exciting new role for me,” stated Irving, “but I will miss those that are not in the work field, such as the children and those who have retired. I enjoy coming alongside patients in their day to day lives and working with them to achieve their goals.”
As the OHS Chief Medical Officer, Irving will be administering DOT physicals and work comp management for local area businesses. She is excited to give back to the community in a new way, stating, “We spend so much of our lives at our jobs, and being able to facilitate health there translates to good health at home.” Because of this, OHS offers a wide range of testing and can tailor their services to the needs of each consumer. For consumer ease, services are being consolidated at one location, on the SCK Health Medical Center campus at 6403 Patterson Parkway.
With these exciting changes, we also announce current OHS Director, Linda Boswell, will be retiring December 31st, after 13 years providing quality testing for local companies. SCK Health wants to thank Linda for all she has done for SCK Health and wish her the best in her retirement! Although we are sad to see Linda go, we are happy to announce our new Occupational Health Services Director, Theresa Cassaboom, RN. Theresa has been a nurse for over 15 years with background in emergency nursing, behavioral health, and crisis response. When asked about her new position, Theresa states, “I am excited to be
back at SCK Health and have a part in the expansion of health care services in Cowley County.”
Our team is not complete without Zanna Groves, our Occupational Health Services testing collector. Zanna has over 3 years of experience in the field and is a great asset to our department. If you want to learn more about OHS, or to schedule upcoming testing, please contact Theresa or Heather at 620-441-5899.
